GAME 1:

The Lady Of The Lake Saints defeated the USAO Drovers, by the score of 4-2.

In this game, the the Drovers sent Tucker White to the mound, as he went 4 innings and gave up just 2 hits. USAO’s shortstop P.J. Garcia said “We started off slow on the offensive side and lost a tough one in the first game. We bounced back in the second game and we strung a lot of hits together. The third game we fought hard and came together as a team to pull out a win and the series win. Our pitching was very good this weekend. We got to take it a day at a time and trust the process.

Seminoles edge out the Titans:

The Florida State Seminoles defeated the CSU Fullerton Titans 6-4 in a back and forth affair.

The Seminole bats collected 7 hits and were led by Matt Henderson, who went 2-3 with 2 singles. Taylor Walls went 1-4 with a single. Dylan Busby went 1-4 with a double. Drew Mendoza went 1-3 with a home run. Steven Wells went 1-3 with a single. The starting pitcher for Florida state was Drew Parris who pitched 5 2/3 innings, giving up 4 runs on 4 hits. Chase Haney the winning pitcher, pitched 2/3 of an inning, giving up 0 runs on 0 hits. Alec Byrd pitched 1 1/3 innings, giving up 0 runs on 0 hits. Drew Carlton pitched 1 1/3, giving up 0 runs on just 1 hit.

The bats for the Titans gathered 5 hits and were led by Timmy Richard, who went 1-3 with a home run. Scott Hurst went 1-3 with a single. Dillon Persinger went 1-4 with a double. The starting pitcher for the Titans was John Gavin, who pitched 3 1/3 innings, giving up 2 runs on 3 hits. Gavin Velasquez pitched 2 2/3 innings, giving up 1 run on 1 hit. Oregon State dominates LSU:

In this winners bracket battle the Oregon State Beavers beat the LSU Tigers 13-1. During the top of the 6th inning the Beavers scored 5 runs on just 1 hit, which was a grand slam by K.J. Harrison.

The Beavers got an outstanding performance by pitcher Bryce Fehmel who pitched 8 innings, giving up 1 run on 2 hits. Sam Tweedt pitched 1 inning, giving up 0 runs on 2 hits. The bats for Oregon State collected 11 hits and were led by Nick Madrigal, who went 3-6 with 2 singles and a double. Steven Kwan went 2-4 with a single and a double. Trevor Larnach went 2-4 with 2 singles. K.J. Harrison went 1-5 with a grand slam. Tyler Malone went 1-3 with a single. Michael Gretler went 1-3 with a double. Cadyn Grenier went 1-3 with a single.

The Bats for the Tigers were held to just 4 hits and were led by Zach Watson, who went 2-4 with a single and a solo home run. Chris Reid went 1-1 with a single. Jake Slaughter went 1-1 with a single. The starting pitcher was Eric Walker who pitched 2 innings, giving up 1 run on 2 hits. Walker also suffered the loss.

Day 2 of the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament

Game 1 USAO vs Texas Wesleyan 

In the winners bracket game, the USAO Drovers beat Texas Wesleyan Rams 9-1. The Drovers got a strong start from Jose Hidalgo, who went 9 innings and only giving up 1 run on 4 hits. The bats for USAO collected 13 hits, led by Christian Perez who went 3-5 with a single, a double, and a home run. Dillon White went 2-4 with 2 singles, Frankely Gonzalez went 1-4 with a single, Randy Ventura went 1-4 with a single, Kenniel Rivera went 1-5 with a home run, Henry Rodriguez went 2-5 with 2 singles and Alexander Cortes went 1-4 with a triple.

The bats for Rams gathered only 4 hits, led by Caden Williams who went 1-4 with a solo home run.  Kiki Menendez went 1-3 with a single, Blake Seaton went 1-3 with a single and Alex Gudac went 1-3 with a single.

Player of the Game:  

Jose Hidalgo: Hidalgo went 9 innings, only allowing 1 run on 4 hits.

Game 2  Texas Wesleyan vs Wayland Baptist

In the elimination game, the Texas Wesleyan Rams beat the Wayland Baptist Pioneers 13-7. The Rams gathered 14 hits, led by Blake Seaton who went 3-5 with a single, a double and a home run.  Caden Williams went 2-4 with a double and a home run, Luis Roman went 1-4 with a single, Kiki Menendez went 2-4 with a single and a homerun, Aidan Laurini went 1-4 with a single, Garrett Crook went 1-1 with a pinch-hit single, Casey Moses went 1-4 with a single, Julio Ibarra went 1-4 with a single and Dylan Measells went 2-5 with 2 singles. The starting pitcher for the Rams was Andrew O’Brien, who went 3 innings allowing 5 runs on 6 hits. The relief pitcher, Wade Regas, went 6 innings giving up 2 runs on just 2 hits

Whats next:

On Sunday the 7th, the Drovers will take on the Rams in the game to go to the finals. This game will also take place at USAO at 2pm.
