Just a year ago today the USAO Drovers claimed the 2017 Sooner Athletic Conference Title against Oklahoma City. With the win over the SAGU Lions today the Drovers secured another SAC tournament title under head coach Mike Ross. The Drovers stormed out of the gates in todays game as they would win 22-3 in a 7 inning game. With the win the Drovers win improved to (43-10, 24-3 SAC) and the Lions fall to (24-30, 8-19 SAC).

The Drovers sent Ricardo Velez to the mound as he would fire 6 strong innings and allow 3 runs on 6 hits. Velez racked up 8 strikeouts over his outing and finished his night with just 2 walks. With the win he will move to 5-0 on the season for USAO. Edgar Cuevas would throw 1 inning for the Drovers and allow just a hit over his inning of work.

The Drovers offense put together a very impressive outing as they would compile 21 hits over the game led by Cristian Laboy who went 4-4 with 3 singles and a grand slam (9). Luis Pelayo went 3-3 with a single, Triple and a home run (6). Ian Laureano went 3-4 with 2 doubles and a home run (4). P.J. Garcia went 2-3 with 2 singles for USAO. Daniel Lafarga went 2-3 with a double and a home run (7). Coleton Horner tallied 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 2 singles for the Drovers. Alex Sanchez went 1-2 with a single. Haddon McIntosh went 1-1 with a triple for USAO. Brandon Shumway went 1-1 with a RBI double. Elvin Alamo went 1-3 with a single. Brock Henderson went 1-5 with a single for the Drovers.
