Baseball: Panthers Knock Off Tigers In Walk-Off Fashion

In day 1 of the east/west showdown the Am-Po Panthers beat the Tupelo Tigers 6-5 after a walk-off bunt single by Colby Copeland.

The Panther bats collected 11 hits and were led by Hayden Savage who went 3-4 with 2 singles and a home run (1). His home run came in the 6th inning to deadlock the game at 5. Cache Anglin went 3-4 with a single and 2 doubles. Nathan Ratcliff went 3-4 with 2 singles and a double. Colby Copeland went 1-2 with a single in the bottom of the 7th inning to win the game. Travis Clift went 1-4 with a single. The Panthers sent Senior Hunter Hughes to the mound and he would throw 3 innings and give up just 1 run on 3 hits. Hughes would also strikeout 3 of the Tigers hitters. The Panthers had to use 2 relievers in this game with Hayden Savage and Chandler Brittian. Savage went 2 2/3 innings and gave up 3 earned runs on 3 hits. Savage also finished with 3 strikeouts on the night, including one with the bases loaded in the 4th inning to escape a jam. Brittian pitched 1 1/3 innings and gave up 0 runs on 0 hits. Brittian would get 1 strikeout on the night.
