The USAO Drovers played a conference series against the Central Christian Tigers, and defeated them 17-3. The next two games of this series with be played on March 17th.
The bats for the Drovers were hot, as they put together 14 hits. The offense was led by Kenniel Rivera, as he went 3-5 with 3 home runs, including 2 grand slams. Rivera also finished the game with 9 RBI’s. Daniel Lafarga went 2-3 with a single and a home run. Greg Barnette went 2-4 with a single and a home run. Coleton Horner went 2-5 with a single and a double. Wyatt Hull went 2-3 with 2 singles. Miguel Lorenzo went 1-3 with a single. P.J. Garcia went 1-4 with a stand-up triple. Stevie Thompson went 1-3 with a single. The Drovers sent Tucker White to mound for the first time since February 2nd against Arlington Baptist. White pitched 5 innings and gave up 2 runs on 4 hits. He also managed to strikeout 6 batters. The Drovers used two relief pitcher with Rudy Gonzalez and Angel Reyes. Gonzalez threw 1 inning and gave up 1 run on 2 hits. Reyes came in to finish off the win and pitched just 1 inning giving up 0 runs on 1 hit. He did end up striking out 2 Tigers hitters in his short inning of work.
Starting Pitcher Tucker White said “It felt good to be back and competing, especially not having pitched in awhile. It was an overall good team win. We just need to keep working to get better everyday.“
