Panthers Complete The Sweep

In the 100th annual Grady County Tournament both Am-Po Panthers teams would win the championship. This is the first time in 7 years that both teams have won the tournament.

Girls: Panthers Win In a Nail-bitter

In Championship Game of the Grady County Tournament, the Am-Po Panthers knocked off the Rush Springs Redskins by the score of 42-41.The Panthers would be led Carli Eubanks, as she scored 20 points off 6 three-pointers. The Redskins would be led by Caitlyn Long, as she would score 15 points on the night.

1st Half:

The Panthers would come out the gate firing and they would win the opening quarter 16-9. The Panthers would be led by Caton Muncy who would score 8 points. In this quarter the Redskins would be led by Autumn Mathis who would score 3 points in the frame.

The Redskins would start to cut the lead down and they would win the second quarter 8-5. They would be led by Long who would 4 points in the quarter. The Panthers would be led by Ashley Kemp who would score 3 points in the frame.

2nd Half:

In the third quarter, the Panthers would outscore the Redskins 10-8. In this quarter the Panthers would be led by Eubanks who would score 6 points in this frame. The Redskins would be led by Pacie Mayberry who had 3 points in the quarter.

In the fourth quarter, the Redskins would try and mount a comeback. They would outscore the Panthers 14-11 in the quarter. The Redskins would be led by Long who would score 7 points in the quarter. The Panthers would be led by Eubanks who would score 8 points in this frame.

Final Thoughts:

The Panthers would shoot 9/13 from the free throw line, while the Redskins would shoot 6/9 from the line. The Panthers would have just 11 turnovers, while they forced 15 by the Redskins.

Player of the game:

Carli Eubanks: She would score 20 points, including 6 three-pointers. Eubanks would also finish with 6 rebounds in this contest.

Boys: Panthers Win In Late Thriller

In the boys championship game, the Am-Po Panthers would beat the Minco Bulldogs 47-45. In this game the Panthers would be led by Skylar Croskey who would score 19 points and grab 9 rebounds. The Bulldogs would be led by Josh Ward who would score 18 points in the game.

1st Half:

The Bulldogs would come out firing on all cylinders, as they would later win the quarter 15-9. In the first quarter the Bulldogs would be led by Ward who would score 6 points in the frame. The Panthers would be led by Travis Clift who would score 3 points in the quarter.

In the second quarter, the Panthers would win the frame 11-9. The Panthers would be led by Croskey who would have 4 points and go into the half with 6 points. In the second quarter the Bulldogs would be led by Ward who would score 7 points in the frame.

2nd Half:

Both team would come out the break hot, but the Panthers would win the quarter 18-16. The Panthers would be led by Croskey who would score 7 points in the quarter. The Bulldogs would be led by Cade Shirley who would score 8 points in the quarter. The Bulldogs would have the lead, 40-38 going into the fourth quarter.

The Panthers would win the fourth quarter, 9-5. They would be led by Croskey who would score 6 points in the quarter. The Bulldogs were led by Ward who would score 3 points in the quarter. The Panthers would be under pressure at the end of the game, but Tanner Wallace would prevail and block the potential game tying layup.

Final Thoughts:

The Panthers would shoot 6/11 from the free throw line, and the Bulldogs would shoot 10/14 from the line. Bulldogs would make 5 three-pointers, while the Panthers had just 2 on the night.

Player of the game:

Skylar Croskey- He would score 19 points, and grab 9 rebounds. Croskey would also shoot 5/7 from the free throw line.
