Boys: Panthers Cruise To The Victory

In the opening round of the 100th annual Grady County Tournament, the Am-P.O. Panthers beat the Rush Springs Redskins by the score 48-22. The Panthers were led Hayden Savage and Skylar Croskey. Savage would finish with 12 points and 4 rebounds. Croskey would finish with 12 points and 8 rebounds. The Redskins were led by Josh Williams, as he would score 6 points and grab 3 rebounds.

1st Half:

In the first quarter, the Panthers caught fire. The Panthers would win the quarter, by the score of 17-8. In the quarter the Panthers would be led Hayden Savage, as he would score 6 points. The Redskins would be led by Caleb Heston, as he would score 3 points in the quarter.

The second quarter became a defensive battle, as the Panthers would squeak by the Redskins. They would win the quarter 5-3. The Panthers would be carried by Nathan Ratcliff, as he would score 3 points during this frame. The Redskins would avoid going scoreless in the quarter after getting a 3-pointer at the buzzer, by Devin Jordan.

2nd Half:

In the third quarter the Panthers would come out ready to play. They would win the quarter, by the score 13-4. The Panthers would be led by Skylar Croskey, who scored 5 points in the quarter. Devin Jordan and Josh Williams would each score 2 points in the quarter for the Redskins.

The fourth quarter would look very similar to the third, as the Panthers would win the frame 13-7. The Panthers would be led by Chandler Brittain, as he would score 5 points in the quarter. Also for the Panthers Kale Kennedy would score 3 points, in his first game back from a shoulder injury. The Redskins would be led Holden Pate, as he would score 3 points in the quarter.

Final Thoughts:

The Panthers would finish with just 7 turnovers, while the Redskins would have 10. The Panthers shot 6/7 (86%) from the free throw line, while the Redskins shot 5/7 (71%) from the line.

Player of the game:

Skylar Croskey- He scores 12 points, and finished with 8 rebounds.
