Boys: Huskies Outplay the Generals

In the first round of the Chickasha Basketball Classic the Wichita Falls Hirschi beat the U.S. Grant Generals, 65-49. The Hirschi Huskies were led by Javen Banks, who racked up 15 points, and shot 5/6 from the free throw line. The Generals were led by Latrell Mitchell who picked up 16 points, which included three 3-pointers.

1st half:

The first quarter was mostly controlled by the Generals, and they would later go onto win the quarter 16-11. The Generals were carried by the 3-pointer and would make 4 during this quarter. During this quarter U.S. Grant was led by Titus Stevens who had 6 points in the quarter. The Huskies were led by Rashad Greene in this quarter who would score 5 points, including a 3-pointer. In the second quarter all the momentum would change sides, thanks to a big quarter from Pietro Lazzarotto who had 9 points for the Huskies during this frame. The Huskies would go on to win the quarter 16-5, and take a halftime lead of 27-21.

2nd half:

The Huskies would come out of the break hot with Javon Banks, who would score 5 points in the 3rd quarter. The Huskies would go on to win the frame, by the score of 16-11. The Generals were led by Chance Phillips, he would score 4 points during this quarter. The 4th period was owned by the Huskies, as they would later win the frame 22-17. During this quarter, Jaylen Cox would add 6 points to the Hirschi total. The Generals were led by Jamarion Webb who would score 5 points during this quarter.

Final Thoughts:

The Huskies would shoot 11/13 (85%) from the free throw line, while the Generals would shoot just 10/17 (59% ) from the line. The Generals would tally 8 three-pointers, while the Huskies made 6 from behind the ark.

Hirschi: The Huskies will play the Cache Bulldogs, on Friday at 5:30 p.m.

U.S. Grant: The Generals will play the Chickasha Chicks, on Friday at 2:30 p.m.
