The Chickasha Chicks beat the Lindsay Leopards, by the score of 44-38 on Friday night. The Chicks were led by Deonte Wash and Ethan Christian, they both scored 11 points. The Leopards were led by Max English, he had 18 points and 4 rebounds.
During the first quarter the Chicks, went on an early 6-0 run. The Chicks ended the quarter on top, 11-3. By the end of the first quarter, Ethan Christian already had 4 points. In the second quarter Christian hit two 3-pointers and Logan Johnson added 4 more points. The defense gave Lindsay a lot of trouble, during the first half only allowing 20 points to the Leopards. The Chicks won the second quarter scoring, 14-7. Chickasha would go into the half, with a 25-10 lead. Going into the half the leading scorer for Chickasha, was Ethan Christian. He had 10 points and 5 rebounds. The leading scorer for Lindsay was Tate Covell. He had 5 points and 3 rebounds.
At the end of the 3rd quarter, the Leopards had cut the lead down to 35-21. Lindsay would end of winning the quarter, 11-10. During the third quarter, English had 6 point to put him at 9 with still a quarter to go. During the third, Deonte Wash would carry Chickasha, scoring 7 of their 10 quarter points. Wash would also make a buzzer-beater 3-pointer at the end of the 3rd quarter. During the fourth quarter, the Leopards started to heat up. Lindsay made three 3-pointers during the 4th quarter. Lindsay would win the fourth quarter scoring, 17-9. During the 4th, English would have 9 points and one 3-pointer. Braiden Cruce, had 8 points, which included two 3-pointers.
The Chicks forced 25 turnovers and only had 14 turnovers. The Chicks move to 2-0, while the Leopards move to 0-1 on the season.

Senior Ethan Christian said “We played really hard in tonight’s game but we just have to learn how to close games better and play smart down the stretch. Both of these things will come as the season goes on because we are so young. Everything is in front of us we just have to go take it and capitalize on every opportunity.”
Sophomore Deonte Wash said “We came out with great intensity and played hard. We need to go into every game with this mindset. Everyone was riding for each other and picking each other up keeping us together.”
