The Fightin’ Chicks finished with a 0-10 record on the season. The record doesn’t reflect the fight and effort the chicks had all season long. This Chickasha team will look to bounce back next season following a rough 2017 season, but the future is bright for the Chicks. Chickasha has a lot of young talent with Soph. Hasian Burdex, Soph. Austin Albright, Fresh. Kaden Stephenson, Fresh. Ben Bowens and Soph. Harrison Funderburk.

This Chickasha team struggled most of the season, but stepped it up with a great showing on Senior night against Weatherford. The Chicks fell just short of Weatherford, by the score of 28-21, but this game did show that this team has a ton of fight in them. On the season, the Chicks gave up a total of 409 points, which came out to be an average of 41 points per game. The Chickasha Chicka were faced with a bunch of tough tasks and tallied 120 points on the season, which came out to an average of 12 points per game.

The Chickasha Chicks got a lot of help from this great coaching staff, led by Coach Bray, Coach Molder and Coach Johnson. This coaching staff deserves a lot of credit for the hard work these guys put in all season long and getting them ready to play week in and week out. Just remember there is a lot more to a season than just wins and losses.  It’s also about what the kids learn during the process.

Coach Johnson said “The season didn’t go the way we planned record wise, but the players kept grinding and learning and fighting day in and day out. I’m proud of the fight in these kids and I am very excited for the next couple seasons with the core group of guys we have coming back. I can’t wait to keep striving for success with these Chickasha kids. AAAO”
