Chicks split the first day of the Regional Tournament

 

       Game 1: Chickasha vs Kingfisher

   In the opening round of the regional tournament, the Chicks beat the Kingfisher Yellowjackets 5-1. The bats for the Chicks collected 5 hits, led by Jake Womack who went 2-2 with a single and a double. Brock Henderson went 1-4 with a single, Brandon Williams went 1-2 with with a single and a sac bunt and Alex Inghram went 1-3 with a single. The starting pitcher for the Chicks was Brock Henderson, he went 7 innings giving up 1 run on 5 hits, while striking out 9 batters.

The bats for Kingfisher collected 5 hits and were led by Keaton Abercrombie who went 1-3 with a RBI single.  Sam Walter went 1-3 with a double, Austin Neal went 1-3 with a single, Cole Daugherty went 1-2 with a single and Clayton went 1-2 with a single.

Player of the game:

Brock Henderson: Henderson went 7 innings and only allowed 1 run. At the plate he went 1-4 with a single.

            Game 2: Chickasha vs Heritage Hall

    In game 2 of the Regional tournament, the Heritage Hall Chargers defeated the Chickasha Chicks 5-1. The Bats for the Chicks collected 6 hits and were led by Brock Henderson who went 3-3 with 3 doubles. Brandon Williams went 1-4 with a single and Cayleb Hunter 2-3 with 2 singles. The starting pitcher for the Chicks was Brandon Williams, he went 6 innings giving up 5 runs on 7 hits.

The bats for the Chargers collected 7 hits, led by Roman Phansalker who went 1-3 with a double.  Chandler Shepard went 1-3 with a single, Blake Adams went 2-2 with 2 singles and a sac fly, Devin Crawford went 1-3 with a single, Mart Smith went 1-3 with a single and Preston Taylor went 1-3 with a single.

Player of the game:

Roman Phansalker: Phansalker went 6 2/3 innings while giving up just 1 run on 6 hits. Phansalker also struck out 13 batters.

 JR. Brandon Williams said ” I think we came out with a lot of intensity the first game, we hit it pretty well and played great defense! The second game we struggled offensively as a whole, and had a few errors, those combined cost us the game”

FR. Austin Albright said “Well today was a great day. We came out strong in the first game. Brock pitched very well. Everybody was tuned in and focused. Going into the second we had a couple of chances to score,but weren’t able to score. Brandon did great and kept it 0-0 until the 5th or so. We were never able to get anything going at the plate besides Brock. We’re ready for tomorrow though.”
