The Fightin’ Chicks saw themselves down early after 7 quick points from J’briell Easley. But then the Chicks put together a 6-0 run with Hasian Burdex scoring 4 points and Deonte Wash scoring 2. The Chicks had the lead 14-13 after the first quarter.

The momentum at the end of the 1st period carried over to the 2nd scoring 4 straight for Chickasha. The Chicks won the 2nd quarter scoring 11 points and holding Shawnee to 7 points. Wash had 13 points going into halftime. Chickasha had the lead 25-20 going into halftime.

The 3rd period was full of defensive stops. The Chicks were held to just 6 points in this quarter. Deonte Wash scored 4 points and Austin Albright made his first shot off a and-one, but missed the free throw. The Chicks lead was sitting at 31-28 after losing the scoring 8-6 in this quarter.

The 4th quarter Shawnee defense shut down Deonte and held him scoreless in the 4th. This quarter the Chicks were held to 4 points and gave up 7 to Shawnee. The Wolves tied the game in the 4th off a 3 point shot by Kyle Henery. At one point the Chicks had a 7 point lead at 31-24 toward the end of the 3rd period. Shawnee went on a 9-0 run to eventually take the lead, but the Chicks answered with 1 free throw from Hasian Burdex to send them to overtime.

Overtime went fast and Shawnee scored in the first pocession with 2:36 left. The Chicks didn’t score until 48 second left Deonte Wash hit 2 free throws. The Chicks got a key stop and held the ball until 8 seconds left and then Mathew Wilson hit a buzzer beater to send the Chicks to victory winning 39-37
