Oklahoma claims the Sugar Bowl 

On this Monday night, Oklahoma faced off against Auburn. But the Sooners came out on top winning 35-19. The injury bug hit Auburn smack in the face in the 2nd quarter losing quarterback Sean White to a broken arm. After losing White the Tigers became one dimensional, Quarterback John Franklin is known for his running not his passing, finishing the game with 3-7 passing for 25 yards and 16 yards rushing. The Sooners were down 7-0 after the first quarter, but didn’t take them long dominating the rest of the game 35-13. The Sooner defense played well compared to other games only giving up 339 yards and held Auburn to 5-15 on 3rd down. The Sooner running duo stepped up against a tough Auburn defensive line, Joe Mixon had 91 yards and 2 touchdowns and added 89 yards receiving. Samaje Perine finished his career at OU with 4,036 yards and broke Billy Sims rushing record with 5:12 left in the 4th quarter, he had 86 yards and 1 touchdown. The two heisman finalists Baker Mayfield and Dede Westbrook got to hook up one last time. Mayfield went 19/28 for  296 yards with 2 touchdowns. 

Key players for OU:

Baker Mayfield- He threw for 296 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Joe Mixon- ran for 91 yards with 2 touchdowns and also 89 yards receiving.

Samaje Perine- had 86 yards rushing and 1 touchdown and broke Billy Sims record. 

Dede Westbrook- had 6 catches for 59 yards and 1 touchdown. 

Caleb Kelly- lead the with 12 total tackles and had 1 tackle for loss.

Key players for Auburn:

Kamryn Pettaway- had 24 carries for 101 yards.

Player of the game:

Baker Mayfield- He has had a great season and finished with a great sugar bowl preformance.
